hey mom!!

happy mother's day!

you're pretty cool mom - in the true hipster style i'm pretty sure you're the first mother to dress her daughter like one...

(also, where is this photo?! the junk yard?)

you'll get your SMALL gift soon.  sorry for being a loser daughter and not sending it yet - but a little birdy told me that YOU forgot mother's day (just sayin').

love you like cray, cray!

doesn't seem like i should be reflecting upon another year as 2012 has flown by!  paris 2012 has offered so much to my life even though i was sick to be stateside for many of it.  i continue to count my blessings of having a great community of family and friends i love here but also far across the atlantic.

i know my life will continue to be in paris for a couple more years and i welcome the experiences of the future here; my second home.

day date paris

i have been wanting to go on this thing since i moved to paris.  #finally!

the purse totally matches, but it's totally mine.  no murse here...

 OH LOOK; the eiffel tower!

does this remind anyone else of dave mattews band?

this was the most popular game and husby had to show his manly side.  don't worry, i showed my manly side too.

classic.

best day date ever.

2 down, 1 to go.

hubsy's entourage? three favorite women? kidding, we all know who the favorite is...

...someone didn't realize the couple was trying to get a photo...
*love this photo; we met the guy on the right and i hope to keep in touch for years to come

husby didn't get the memo; apparently white isn't only reserved for the bride here...

again, we'll try at the next wedding.  third times a charm.

i cannot believe how many weddings i've had to go to this year AND how many weddings i couldn't attend because of the obvious reason of living abroad.  another in august!  let's hear it for dancing, alcohol, and great food! .... OH and celebrating a life to spend together.

paris pride 2012

pride, as always, was filled with:

rainbows and free condoms!

 lots of sexy 'sailors'!

this guy!

dancin' and drums!

this by far was the best float EVER.

but i'm not going to lie, i had much more fun last year....
it was still great though; so much positive feelings of acceptance and happiness.

you can see more photos of the day {here} and last years post {here}.

real life travels with charley

last weekend i went to the dog park with some friends and i saw this beautiful grey poodle.  i really couldn't resist asking to take a photo.... more importantly i was so taken by this dog because my {favorite book} co-stars one.

...speaking of my favorite book...

when i went home last time my mom gave me a vintage copy.  it's really beautiful and i've already started rereading it.

who can't really can't resist books??  i love the illustrations, the evidence of former owners, and the uneven pages...

since i've never been able to keep a copy (i've always given them away to people who needed to read it), this is definitely a winning gift! i'm sure i won't be loaning this copy out...

so put this book on your summer reading list if you haven't read it yet
