2 down, 1 to go.

hubsy's entourage? three favorite women? kidding, we all know who the favorite is...

...someone didn't realize the couple was trying to get a photo...
*love this photo; we met the guy on the right and i hope to keep in touch for years to come

husby didn't get the memo; apparently white isn't only reserved for the bride here...

again, we'll try at the next wedding.  third times a charm.

i cannot believe how many weddings i've had to go to this year AND how many weddings i couldn't attend because of the obvious reason of living abroad.  another in august!  let's hear it for dancing, alcohol, and great food! .... OH and celebrating a life to spend together.

paris pride 2012

pride, as always, was filled with:

rainbows and free condoms!

 lots of sexy 'sailors'!

this guy!

dancin' and drums!

this by far was the best float EVER.

but i'm not going to lie, i had much more fun last year....
it was still great though; so much positive feelings of acceptance and happiness.

you can see more photos of the day {here} and last years post {here}.

real life travels with charley

last weekend i went to the dog park with some friends and i saw this beautiful grey poodle.  i really couldn't resist asking to take a photo.... more importantly i was so taken by this dog because my {favorite book} co-stars one.

...speaking of my favorite book...

when i went home last time my mom gave me a vintage copy.  it's really beautiful and i've already started rereading it.

who can't really can't resist books??  i love the illustrations, the evidence of former owners, and the uneven pages...

since i've never been able to keep a copy (i've always given them away to people who needed to read it), this is definitely a winning gift! i'm sure i won't be loaning this copy out...

so put this book on your summer reading list if you haven't read it yet

self portrait

this hangs above my sewing area in my tiny apartment and it slightly changes overtime.  it's a slice of me and i think you might see so much.
in short, i might be too sentimental but it offers so much happiness and a lot of inspiration.

home project

my husband's current obsession is the style art nouveau.  in february he bought chairs from germary for our kitchen.  the chairs are  in the style of jugendstil, the art nouveau from vienna.
one of the chairs he bought had this ugly yellow paint on it, so we decided to take it off and give it a stain.

luckily, we have a 'roof deck', (because our apartment is on the roof level) and we use it for projects.  especially projects that include chemicals...

the details.

we used a gel paint thinner, which was convenient for transporting on the metro (smaller container and lighter in weight)
(do you see the visiter?! he was curious as to what we were doing, but don't worry, i didn't let him get too close)

it started to rain, so we had to take our project inside. we had to do about 2 1/2 coats of the gel paint remover, but there were also about 3 coats of that ugly paint.
(ps this was on st patrick's day, so don't worry, i wore my green!)

after we took off all the paint, we had to sand the rest of the paint off.

AND that is where we stopped.  we haven't had anytime to stain it, so to be continued!

what d'ya think?!

the visiter

for the past couple months, we have had this visiter:

in the beginning, he would come up to our window, peak his head around and then run away if we got too close.

then one day this happened:
i was way too excited and let him come on in and walk around.  he would walk around and look around, but if we got too close, he'd run back out the window.

eventually, we've become friends with him.  he loves to be pet and purrs really loud... it's so sweet.
these days i think his curiosity has subsided but sometimes he comes on in to get some lovin'...

i've wanted a kitty for awhile now, so my husband thinks this is such a blessing.  we can play with the kitty and get some snuggles and then send him on his way.
we have no idea where he lives.  in the beginning he wore a collar, but these days he's not wearing it anymore.  my assumption is that he lives down the hall from us, but i can't be sure.  i do know he has a home somewhere in the neighborhood, but he is always venturing out all over the roof tops, so who knows how far or close his home might be.  the fun thing is, he is completely content and has the total attitude of the independent cat.  if we walk to the window and ask him to leave, he just leaves with no issue at all... so. cute. !!!

the question here is: am i a creep?
haha.  do any of you cat owners feel a little bit worried for your wondering cats now?
these are all the all the questions that run through my mind when i play string or get snuggles from 'kitty'...
also, do you think we're the only ones in the neighborhood who has had our hearts stolen?
what do you think?

hottie of the week

as a youngster, i never really read 'tiger beat' or really paid attention to the latest heart throbs.  only when i got older did i realize that i can have a celebrity crush.  and i can tell people that i find that celebrity person attractive.

i'm going to start with one of my favorites:

cameron frye from ferris bueller's day off.
now, yes, alan ruck is a hottie and has aged very well, but i have always loved him in the role of cameron.

please, do yourself a favor and set aside the next 20 mins for admiration.

maybe this is the reason i love that painting so much?

i've always loved this outfit.  the suspenders are so cute!! and after this scene when he puts the hockey jersey over it.  what a nerd; gotta love it.

and we can forget to end this post with this famous scene:

also, if you're interested, there a playlist featured on youtube with the commentary of this movie.  very good, worth the time {linked here}
